- Optical Glass Production Engineer

Job Description The successful candidate will work as a part of OptiGrate Glass Manufacturing and will take responsibilities for selected processing steps focusing on glass fabrication by the company proprietary technology. In this position, the person will operate high-temperature furnaces, will involve in process analysis and development by computer control software, and will make glass characterization following in-house developed procedures. This work will require excellent organizational skills, rigorous adherence to quality assurance and engineering controls, and creative scientific thinking in partnership with other engineers with advanced degrees in materials science and chemistry.
Job Requirements
- MS or Ph.D. degree in materials science or chemical engineering.
- Significant laboratory work experience in material processing and characterization.
- Practical knowledge of material analysis.
- Rigorous attention to numerical and engineering details.
- Experience in equipment maintenance and resolving instrumentation troubleshooting.
- Experience of software applications such as LabView to code data processing, and MS Office to generate and report results.
- Hands-on experience in glass fabrication, as well as operating glass fabrication furnaces and glass testing instrumentation, is preferable.

Job Description The successful candidate will be responsible for fabrication, testing, and certification of unique diffractive and holographic optical components. The position requires laboratory experience in optical assembly, diagnostics, and tests. Basic knowledge of geometrical and diffractive optics and lasers is a must. The candidate will perform characterization of optical elements and optimization of test flow and processes. The candidate will conduct element and system level diagnostics and alignment, test optical components, operate automated (computer controlled) equipment and lasers.
Job Requirements
- BS or MS in electronics, optics, or physical sciences.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, optical, and electrical specifications using drawings and manuals.
- Routine use of common software applications such as LabView, MathCAD, MS Office to generate and report results is required.
- Hands on experience in optical measurements, operating sophisticated devises such as spectrophotometers and interferometers is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of optics, photonics, or laser systems is a plus.
